Umber & Oak is a New Zealand-based online retailer selling in trade.

Our Pieces

Umber & Oak offers thoughtfully sourced, predominantly pre-owned homewares. Many of our pieces are one of a kind and will naturally show signs of their previous life.

We carefully inspect, photograph and describe each piece and make every effort to note significant wear, marks, imperfections or other characteristics that may be relevant when making your purchase.

Minor variations, patina, wear and signs of age are part of the individual character of pre-owned pieces and should be expected.

Please read the product description and view all photographs carefully before purchasing.

Product Photography & Colour

We make every effort to represent our pieces as accurately as possible. However, colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography and the screen or device you are viewing them on.

Pricing & Payment

All prices are shown in New Zealand dollars (NZD).

Payment must be completed at checkout before an order is confirmed.

We take care to ensure our pricing and product information is accurate. If we discover an error affecting an order, we will contact you as soon as possible.

Availability

Many Umber & Oak pieces are unique and available in a quantity of one.

Placing an item in your cart does not reserve it. An item is secured once checkout and payment have been successfully completed.

In the unlikely event that an item becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and provide an appropriate refund.

Shipping & Delivery

We currently ship within New Zealand.

Shipping costs are displayed at checkout. Further information about dispatch and delivery can be found on our Shipping page.

We carefully package every order to help ensure your piece arrives safely. Once your order has been dispatched, tracking information will be provided where available.

Delivery timeframes are estimates and may occasionally be affected by circumstances outside our control.

Returns & Change of Mind

Please choose carefully, as we do not offer returns or exchanges for a change of mind.

Because many Umber & Oak pieces are pre-owned, individual and may show signs of age, we encourage you to read the full product description and review all photographs before purchasing.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable consumer law.

Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, is faulty, is materially different from its description, or you receive an incorrect item, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will work with you to determine an appropriate resolution in accordance with your rights under New Zealand consumer law.

For damaged deliveries, please retain the item and all original packaging while we review the matter. Further information about damaged deliveries can be found in our FAQs.

Pre-Owned Condition

The condition of a pre-owned piece should be considered in the context of its age, nature and individual product description.

Where we are aware of notable chips, cracks, repairs, marks or other imperfections, we aim to disclose these in the listing and/or photographs.

If you would like further information or photographs of a particular piece before purchasing, please contact us.

Order Cancellation

If you contact us shortly after placing an order and before it has been dispatched, we will do our best to assist. However, we cannot guarantee that an order can be cancelled once processing has begun.

This does not affect any rights you may have under New Zealand consumer law.
